The Kite Runner
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini not only delivers a gripping, action-filled story that keeps readers on edge, but also shines a light on the devastating rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Beyond the suspense and conflict, it’s a powerful testament to the importance of family and redemption. As someone who is interested in the history of the Middle East, this taught me a lot about the rise of the Taliban and their influence on Afghanistan. The story line was gripping and I would consider reading this book again!
Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

A Thousand Splendid Suns
Khaled Hosseini once again transports readers to Afghanistan, crafting a story that is as heartbreaking as it is beautifully told. This novel follows the lives of two women who, under devastating and unforeseen circumstances, become sister-wives. As their worlds collide, they form an extraordinary bond, one built on shared suffering, resilience, and an unspoken understanding of the sacrifices women often make. Hosseini weaves their stories with compassion and emotional depth, offering a powerful exploration of love, loss, and the strength found in unlikely companionship.
